You must be pre-registered
to participate in any class event. Once registered, your package will include an array of memorable
El Cid customised '81 really really
cool stuff, jamboree tickets (if purchased) and wrist bands to attend our specific Class of '81 events.
In order to complete our planning, YOUR COMPLETED REGISTRATION FORM AND PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY SEPTEMBER 15, 2016.

On an administrative note, The Citadel is now requiring everyone attending a reunion tailgate to have a ticket to the Football Game.
This includes wives, guests and children. This is The Citadel's rule not ours but The Citadel plans to enforce it.
Many of our classmates have already booked rooms at the Charleston Marriott and The Courtyard Marriott. There are a limited number of rooms
still available at the Hilton Garden Inn. You are encouraged to book your room today if you have not already done so, (843) 637-4074. Transportation
to each class event will be available from all three contract hotels.

There will be three separate opportunities to pick up your registration package:

Thursday Night Drop-In
Thanks to the generosity of Johnny & Martha Barnes, there will be a Class Social on Thursday, November 3rd 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at 312 and 314 Congress Street (Corners of
Congress St. and Hagood Ave) across from the Alumni House. There will be a full bar and Hors d'Oeuvres. Stop by for a drink or two
and a bite to eat before heading out to enjoy one of Charleston's many fine restaurants.
The Class of '81 Golf Tournament will be part of the Brigadier Foundation sponsored 26th Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament at
Patriots Point Golf Links in Mt. Pleasant on Friday, November 4th 7:30 AM. This Captain's Choice tournament will include separate

The Class of '81 Memorial Service to honor and recognize our desceased classmates will be Friday, November 4th, 1600 at the Charles J. Schnorf
Obstacle Course located behind the Physical Plant/Warehouse Buildings. This event will preceed the Twilight Parade at 1715.
- 1515-1530 - Gather at the entrance to the Charles J. Schnorf Obstacle Course. Class leadership, families and chaplains will be in front.
- 1530- Step out led by bagpiper
- 1540- Prayer and Welcome by Chaplain (CDR) Joe Molina, UMSC, The Citadel Chaplain
- 1545- Homily by Pastor (LCDR) Jim Myers, USN '81
- 1555- Reading of the names of our Desceased Classmates by Rick McGeorge, Class President

Friday Night Jamboree
The Class of 1981, along with several other reunion classes, will once
again participate in the Stray Dog Society Homecoming Jamboree at
the Charleston Reception and Transportation Center on Meeting Street in
Downtown Charleston. Tickets for this event can only be purchased in advance.
No tickets will be available at the door.
This event will begin at
7 PM (NO EARLIER
). There will be lots of great food, an open bar and
a tremendous party band: "Party on the Moon". Think of this event as
an upscale senior party. For a small fee, transportation will be provided to and from the hotel. This party is a BIG TIME Y'ALL!!
Our Tailgate Party will begin Saturday afternoon under the Class Tent behind
the visitor's stands at Johnson Hagood Stadium. To attend you must have
pre-registered and you must wear the designated wristband included in
your registration package. A barbecue/chicken buffet with a whole hog
and all the fixings along with a full bar with liquor, beer, wine, mixers
and water will be provided. You must be wearing a wristband to be served
at the bar. The bar will close briefly so that we can form up to March On and
will close for good at the end of the 3rd quarter. As previously indicated,
beginning this year, The Citadel is now requiring everyone attending a reunion

March On/Football Game
As is tradition, before our Citadel Bulldogs take on Samford, Saturday afternoon at 2 PM, all Reunion Classes will march
onto the field. No cups or beer cans are to be brought into the stadium. You will once again purchase your football tickets directly
through the Citadel Ticket office by calling (843) 953-DOGS. Please ask to be seated in the Class of 1981 section, Section J.
Once again, new this year, The Citadel is requiring all individuals attending the tailgate, and all alumnus participating in
the March On to have a ticket to the Football Game.
Saturday Night Party
Chris and Debbie Swain have graciously agreed to host the Class of 1981 at their
4th Annual Citadel 81' Oyster Roast on the Wando River. The address is 4404 Wando Farms Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Music will be provided by the world famous Embers. YES THE EMBERS!
This is not a
reunion event, and only made possible by the generosity and hospitality
of Chris and Debbie. Parking will be limited, so carpooling is recommended. Additionally, the Class will provide, at no cost, a continuous
shuttle from downtown to the Swains and back. If you have not been able
to attend any of the previous parties put on by the Swains, rest assured
it is not to be missed.
It is our desire for everyone to have a fun, memorable and safe weekend. The Reunion Committee has tried to put together events that all of our
classmates can enjoy. Please return your registration forms and payment as soon as possible. If you are going to have a problem with the
September 15th cutoff date, plase contact Joe Leary and we will try to find a solution.
