If ET made contact, how would we handle the news?

I for one would welcome our alien overlords. Couldn't be much worse than our current overlords unless of course they wanted to use us as food.

Greg Eghigian is a professor of history and bioethics at Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania. He is author of "After the Flying Saucers Came: A Global History of the UFO Phenomenon" (Oxford University Press, June 2024).Appetite for disclosure

Eghigian said that, if you look at the history of the UFO phenomenon, all government gestures aimed at disclosing and declassifying UFO-related information have generated two basic responses.

"There have been those who insist that the materials published definitively show there to be nothing out of the ordinary in sightings and reports," said Eghigian. But these folks are invariably balanced out by others who point to what the documents redact, or don't include, and insist that the government is still keeping vital secrets about UFOs, he added.

"The existence of secrecy means even apparent openness can be suspected of disguising more secrecy," Eghigian said. "The appetite for disclosure is likely to never be satisfied."

Can we handle the truth?

"I know that the public says we can handle the truth. I'm not entirely sure that's true, because we don't really know what the truth is," said George Knapp, a veteran newsman and long-time investigator of UFOs who's based in Las Vegas.

Speaking earlier this year to Ron Futrell, host of the popular "Mystery Wire" internet program, Knapp expressed his thoughts on disclosure.

"A lot of folks think it's ETs from other planets, and we can probably handle that. We've seen enough movies and TV shows over the years," Knapp said. "But I can foresee some strange possibilities that might be truly upsetting to people's religious beliefs and their fundamental beliefs about how humans evolved," he said.

"We think we can handle the truth," Knapp added. "Yeah, we think that our government knows the truth. I'm not sure either of those are true."

E.T. disclosure. TBH, years ago I would be interested and amazed. Today, I think I'd just shrug my shoulders but I'd feel pissed that, if it's been a secret for decades, I was lied to. Kinda like hoaxes in a silly sense.

I've seen a bit of wierd shite but nothing tangible that I could touch or interact with. I'd just like a truthful explanation or, experience it first hand up close to make sense of it.

So, with that convoluted explanation, I guess I could handle the truth and move on.

My thoughts,

Kind regards,

I'll say this if the GP overthinks this, there will be issues.

Sit back, soak up whatever the story is, and go from there.
It's not likely to be the whole truth.

Makes the classic stories interesting as hell, Eisenhower knew

Pretty interesting that Roswell has been pretty much validated

Thanks for the reply. I do appreciate it.

Sorry, I don't know what the 'GP' is.

You've said it there. I won't bother sitting back and soaking up the story as, you mentioned, it's not likely to be the whole truth. I'll scroll through true stories.

"Eisenhower knew" ? Did he write it down. Just asking as above I have only read 3rd party details of this occurrence.

"Roswell" Sure, but we get subjected to the same old black and whites. Some armed forces Major going over pieces about a balloon. As for validation I set a higher expectation. If there's nothing tangible other than 3rd party then sorry mate I've had enough of deleting vids that just go " Terrifying, frightening, Yeah...but.." and have the same old posts. Kinda like Skinwalker or Oak Island and perhaps that flamin anomaly in the Baltic Sea. Give clicks and or likes..subscribe...send more money.

I just want to touch it.

It may depend is the contact physical or not .

I believe Dr. Joseph Burkes, MD The Virtual Experience Model is most likely true definition , it means they can create either group holographic , or indidual visual illusion /auditory illusions...so they are not physical events, but rather technologically induced illusions projected directly into human consciousness. NHI uses illusion as a mechanism of contact/ staged perceptions — technologically induced illusions beamed directly into human consciousness.

Dr.burkes thinks Physical encounters and virtual experiences coexist . So another possibility then could be physical contact .

Burkes thinks NHI can manipulate human perception and memory. If that`s true there would be big implications ....

Because this " playing" with our minds, i have slighty negative attitude of NHI / UAP.......i want to be free citizen of universe....not some toy they can come and play tricks......if they would come playing with my head. Get out of my head ffs .....get real ...come as physical .

And the jury is still out....are they benevolent or malevolent ?
