If you're one or even have mild interest then checkout this guy who has some of the best drone footage of trains w/o the annoying music. Text for narration & plugs in some history. He seems to be quite knowledgeable of freight trains and the rail lines in the southern Calif area. Gorgeous scenery too!

*TRAIN DERAILMENT* - SALTON SEA - "It ain't Pretty Out Here!"

BIG BOY Climbs the Stormy FEATHER RIVER CANYON

Niland Mud Pot (Mud Volcano) by the Salton Sea, which is migrating Southwest at a rate of about 20 feet per year! In 2018 it went under the Railroad here, and washed out the tracks! Now it's on the other side of the tracks and moving towards Highway 111.

HOT WHEELS, TWO 3 MILE LONG MONSTER TRAINS MEET, LOADING CONTAINERS & STACKS ARRIVE IN LOS ANGELES

That was interesting! Kind of relaxing too.

I've been through Tehachapi a couple of different times. It's a pretty interesting place. I've been to the Salton Sea once too as a kid when my dad took me there. Had never heard about the mud pot thing but found it fascinating.

The rise and fall of the Salton Sea area itself is a thread worthy story someone (cough cough) should write. ;)

I would love to see and experience that big ol' thing. It's incredible! Not to mention all those rail cars that aren't plastered with graffiti. Now that would be a rare sight!

After watching train videos, the algorithm gave me this one. I only believe 20% of what I see on YouTube but if this one is true, it is a pretty interesting story.

Longest trains across the world.

Imagine waiting at the crossing. Would have time to roll a smoke.
