It is a shame Xitter videos and links don't embed here normally but it is them not us. On our test site, we are evaluating an add-on that might help not only with X but with others.

I hate fElon Musk and Shitter and have additional blocking in my browser so when X links are posted, I see this.

The links still work and open up in another tab but I'm hoping to find a better solution.

They appear to embed just fine for me. Else, are you saying due to your extra blocking browser settings?
I had to ease my browser restrictions for X.

So, should I hold off on posting any X links?

Also, here on Citadel, does the quote function have a character limit?

I haven't tried it yet, but when copying a web article to post here should I use the 'Article' button feature?
 
@EndtheMadnessNow You are welcome to continue posting X links. They just aren't very impressive to look at and require opening a new tab to view.

I don't know if the quote function has a character limit per se beyond the regular character limits for posts which is 60,000 characters. The display of quotes is limited by how many pixels long it is. When they are over the allowed length, the quote will show a "click to expand" at the bottom of the quote that will reveal the remainder of the quote.

If you preview your post you can tell if you quote is long enough. Click to expand is fully acceptable or you can break it up into multiple quotes as you desire. The [ ] in the toolbar will show the bbcode if your quote includes things it shouldn't or doesn't include things it should.

Profile messages are limited to 600 characters
Maximum images per message is 12
Maximum media embeds per messages is 6

These are arbitrary numbers and can be changed if needed.

The only difference between a regular discussion thread type and an article thread type is where the user avatar and stats are displayed. Article type will show them horizontally at the bottom of post.

Also, with appropriately sized pictures,, which can be adjusted on the fly, they can be aligned left, center and right to wrap around your text. Here is an example of an article type thread with a wrapped picture: https://www.citadel-81.com/xen/thre...-fake-news-before-you-even-make-a-choice.124/
