It's like the Bat Signal, just not the pointy ears.....and rounder.
My Daughter knows 2 things about cars. Where to put the gas - Have the oil changed when the car says to. Beyond that, it's scream for Dad.
Dear Reader is probably saying to themselves, " I thought he just bought one ? "
Yes...yes I did. *sigh*
You guys remember that low mileage Subaru I just bought, right ? Well, it ain't mine no more. I gave it away. Yes. Gave. Not sold.
On Monday my daughter called and said her car was shaking really bad. My first thought was a simple front end alignment, tires out of balance, something fairly simple, but it's front wheel drive so they align the rear too. So, I told her to take it to some folks I know who own a big shop there in Central Illinois and Jeremy will get to it pretty quick if you mention my name. So, she did. He called ME back to let me know it'd be around $2300 to fix it. Bearings, ball joints, upper control arms.....the list got long. And expensive. That car already had almost 250,000 miles on it and it's just not worth putting that kind of money into.
My Daughter needs a reliable way to get to work and what with one thing and another, just can't afford a car right now, so.....we gave her that one. We did a turn around trip yesterday to her house, dropped the car off *sob* took her out to lunch and hauled ass back to Kentucky. It's about 7 hours round trip, so we just turned it into a day out.
Oh well, ....she has to deal with Illinois Winters and icy roads, so I'm glad we gave a good reliable car and the All Wheel Drive will come in handy.
Still gonna miss it.
