What's for dinner?

Never even tried hollandaise from scratch, but the aforementioned Knorr's does a fairly decent analog. Being southern, we do biscuits, and if Canadian bacon is scarce, bacon or sliced fried pork tenderloin works well in a pinch.
Sounds good. I use to make hollandaise at a restaurant

I'm disappointed. I expected god to be a vegetarian or a vegan. He even eats pork apparently? 😮

At least now I can assume what goes in must come out so that's one question I can scratch off my list.
You’ve read too many religious books. Reality is a bit different.

Absolutely !

If you have a crock pot/slow cooker...

Chicken breast, Cream of Mushroom soup. Brown the chicken breasts in a skillet, just enough to get some color on the outside, don't worry about being done, you're just doing it for flavor. You can skip this step and it'll be fine. Put your chicken breasts and soup in the crock pot and set on low for 6 hours or high for 4.

Don't add water. The breast will have enough that it thins out. Serve over a bed of Knorr's Mushroom rice.

My kids used to beg me to make it. Serve with whatever vegetables or bread you like.

If you like pulled pork...

Get a BONE IN { can't stress that enough } Pork Shoulder Butt Roast. Season it heavily on all sides with Smoked Paprika. One whole jar of Pepperoncini and the juice goes in with it. Drop in it in your crock pot on high and forget about it for at least the next 8 hours. The longer the better. If it has fat on it, leave it. It will be fall apart tender. Remove the bone and put all the meat in a bowl with your favorite BBQ sauce. Stir and mix till it's all combined. Put on bun.
Add in some coleslaw and potato salad as sides or better yet, add a healthy dollop of coleslaw of top of the pork sandwich.
Have a comfortable spot for oncoming food coma.

Normally I'd do this on a grill, but that takes a lot of time and you have to keep track of the heat, so a crock pot is easier.

If you're worried about calories or cholesterol, don't ever ask a Southern cook for advice.

Talking pork shoulder made me miss my Big Green Egg... 14 years, 6 months, and 24 days since I had to leave her behind. I just don't have the outdoor space anymore

Our sub continent immigrants are learning to assimulate. An instruction guide from the Dehli College as to cooking Australian favs. 'Coon' cheese 'was' a real thing.

Look, listen and learn.

In jest.

Well, Cain brought veggies to give to god and Abel brought him meat. Then god turned down Cains offering...and then Cain killed Abel and got cursed by god. I wonder what that sign of protection on Cains forehead was that god gave him so people would not kill him?

So, you know that if you ask god if he's a vegetarian. he is probably just going to laugh at you.o_O

Im pretty sure Ive had road kill venison here, not as common as years ago here in the south, but it does happen. As long as none of the organs burst and you can field dress it, grilled venison tenderloin is mighty tasty, its just a little extra tenderizing.

@Beezer That does sound YUM!

9am here. Just cooked a nice thick forequarter lamb chop and a ham and cheese toastie as a side. Been up since 3.30am.

"Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood?" Ps 50:13

Saturday night I make fish and rice and listen to Jimmy Buffet. suits the tropical heat this time of year.

Tried something different this afternoon. A roast chicken. Stuffed it with a whole salad (purple) onion and stiched it up. Salted with chicken salt and further seasoned with a selection of fine cut spaghetti Bol herbs. Cooked on low in the microwave for a few minutes. Taken out and basted with the juices and a little salt/pepper. Placed into gas oven on low heat.

Potatoes - peeled and cut into large protions. Skewerd (holed) so they breath when cooked. Olive oil in a large pan and chucked them in turning unitil they were brown on the outside. Salt sprinkled. When browned on the outside put them in the Airfryer for 15 mins at 200C.

Greens consisted of string beans (my daughters fav), Large zucchini portions from the garden and coloured peppers sliced. Microwave until reasonably soft but hot.

Gravy - pretty standard, plain from the can mit water but added, chicken salt.

Turned oven up to brown chicken.

When all ready served to the ladies, 'true love and daughter". Daughter had seconds.

Chuffed because its been a while since something was timed and worked out. Usually something within my cooking is under or over cooked. Can't fail on the Barbie though.

Kind regards,

Bally)
